Koentopp Blue Line (2016)

$13,500.00

Extremely rare pre-owned archtop from luthier Danny Koentopp! Mr. Koentopp humbly describes the Blue Line this way: "This 16" hand-carved archtop is the working musician's dream. Built with the same exacting standards of our finest archtops and tailor-fit to your every need, the Blue Line delivers a refined and versatile sound. This clear and precise acoustic archtop is the perfect choice for working professionals." We'd simply say this: this is the best modern archtop we've had in the store that's not a Collings AT16. Assuming it's obvious that the woodworking and craftsmanship are top-notch, let's talk tone. This guitar rings with impeccable volume and balance across every fret. Acoustically, it's got the power and cut you'd expect from a great L5, but plugged in is where it really shines. Whether played through a tube combo or Polytone-style gigging amp, the guitar's voice jumps out of the speaker. It's incredibly clear and woody, with almost no hint of "pickup" in the sound. For a jazz guitarist looking for pure, acoustic archtop voice and performance volume, this is as good as it gets. A wonderful guitar ~ period. Priced with deluxe Hoffee flight case.
