Fender Stratocaster (1961)

A wonderful, two-owner 1961 Fender Stratocaster for your consideration!

True to Leo's vision of a modular production guitar, we believe the body to be from around 1965 based on our research, the neck is dated 1961, the pots to 1960, and the pickups appear to be original. The finish remains in incredible shape with only a few light scratches and the occasional indentation scattered across the body. This is a fantastic "players" guitar that has a great feel and tone to match.

Speaking of tones? Amazing. The bridge pickup sounds fantastic - lots of Tele-style bit, but still rich and powerful. The middle and neck positions on the 3 way switch add the expected girth and round, bell-like tones to the mix. To our ears, this is what a great Strat is all about (and what modern Strats never seem to capture for some reason).

Condition: There's one small crack in the pickguard at the neck pickup's top adjustment screw location, and one chip / missing screw on the backplate (tremolo cover). There are two small chips in the rosewood fretboard - @ the 1st fret low E string side, and @ the 14th fret high E string side. Neither interfere with playing the guitar at all. The 3 way switch is still installed and works as it should though it is a bit stiff feeling.

Priced with original hardshell case.

On consignment, no trades please.
