Kauer Daylighter Express (2011)

Doug Kauer has been building a very solid reputation in the boutique guitar world for many years and it's easy to see why with this near mint, 2011 Daylighter Express.

The Daylighter Express is Kauer's stripped down model (think Gibson LP Jr. or Special) with only 25 being made per year. The Spanish Cedar body and neck, short scale, and P90s get you into blues and rock territory with ease though this guitar is capable of a lot more depending on your technique and setup.

There's a cool made-by-hand vibe with this guitar - meaning, if you're the type that goes over guitars with a fine-toothed comb you'll find evidence that a human being put it together. What that typically points to is a guitar that trades an ultra-precise build for soul and feel, and boy does this guitar have feel in spades. The build quality is still very high it should be noted, just not surgically precise (not a bad thing in our book).

We had a blast playing this one through a variety of Fender and Vox style amps. The playability is great and fans of larger necks will really love this one. It's a fat carve, but there's also a fat and wide feel going on - great for tricky chord voicings, etc...

A very cool, fun, musical guitar that gets out of your way and let's you get back to basics! Priced with gig bag.

On consignment, no trades please.
