Evan Ellis Archtop (2005)

No longer for sale

This sweet little archtop, made by former Benedetto master-builder Evan Ellis, just in on consignment! Looking for an archtop but can't get comfortable with a full-sized body? Read on...

The goal of this custom ordered guitar was to capture the essence of a Guild Freshman but in more formal clothing. Its 13 1/2" lower bout makes it extremely comfortable to hold and has the added benefit of providing a more intimate playing experience than its larger body archtop cousins.

The guitar plays beautifully and sounds great either played acoustically or plugged in (its lack of F-holes dictates that amplified was the intention). Speaking of playing amplified, we didn't feel any tone or authenticity was lost due to the smaller body - if anything, we really enjoyed playing this guitar vs most archtops!

The build quality is very, very high, which is not surprising given the builder's resume. There are some extremely faint signs of use (if you really give it a once over), but zero dings, repairs, or fret wear. It's ready to plug and play.

An excellent guitar in every regard and one that should be on your list if you're looking to get into an archtop but can't get into the size of a traditional archtop! Priced with hardshell case.

On consignment, no trades please.
