Really stunning, like-new condition, 2009 Eastman PG2 just in on consignment!
Designed by famed Swiss archtop builder Claudio Pagelli, this Eastman built PG2 is a pleasure to play. Its modern shape makes the 17" body feel smaller than a traditionally shaped 17" while also shifting how the neck sits in a seated playing position. It's almost as if the neck is simply presented to you in the optimal playing position with little energy or effort being expended by the player - no reaching or balancing, just....play. It's an interesting, and very satisfying, playing experience.
The setup is great with nice, low action, further establishing the effortless playability this guitar embodies. Weighing in at 5lbs 2oz, this archtop feels very responsive and lightly built, somewhat reminiscent of a Jim Hall Sadowski (vs a more stout ES-175, for example). The consignor also upgraded the stock pickup to a Bartolini pickup (though we're not sure which model).
We simply had a blast playing this PG2 and love its modern aesthetic. Players looking to add a lightly built, responsive archtop would do well to consider this PG2. Priced with hardshell case.
