"Every day we try to make a better guitar, every day. You're trying to reach for more, trying to do better, not trying to do the same. A lot of companies are trying to do the same, and that's okay - that's their deal. We're trying to stretch that. Our goal is a little more." - Bill Collings
We love these "Acid Wash" City Limits! Elegant and refined yet total rock n' roll all at the same time. No doubt the marker-less ebony fretboard and muted cream/black/gray color palette add to the vibe.
As we've mentioned before, we love this style of guitar with a wraptail bridge. The feel is slinkier, your right hand rests on the top of the body lending to more expressive right hand techniques, and the tone is a touch different as well.
Speaking of tones, the combination of high wind (bridge) and low wind (neck) Lollar humbuckers yields an impressive range of tones to work with. The bridge offers a more forward midrange bite and compression while the neck pickup sounds like a really great Strat neck pickup, albeit fatter (open, "round", etc...). The balance between the two pickups is great and there's a smooth, natural transition when switching between the two.
Condition: Near mint, one tiny impression by the input jack, no fret ware, plastic film still on control cavity covers. Set-up is perfect and plays great! No issues
This City Limits would be right at home on a formal gig or into a cranked Marshall - your call! Priced with hardshell case.
