Collings AT16 Koa Sunburst w/ Calton

Sold

The special moment at TME's 2014 Bill Collings event was undoubtedly the unveling (and first strum) of the first-ever Collings AT16 with Koa back and sides. It probably goes without saying at this point (and it's evident from the photos) that the Collings AT16 is the premiere acoustic archtop in our inventory; but the sound of that guitar was a revelation nonetheless. With a warmer, richer sound than any other AT16 we'd ever had, it drew many comments along the lines of "I'd never considered buying an archtop until I heard THAT!" Supremely balanced and clear, with warmth and unbelievable roundness of tone all the way up the fretboard. This is likely the only other AT16 Koa that will be made in the forseeable future ~ and it's equally mind-blowing in every regard. Just a stunning example of guitarmaking. Priced with custom-built Calton Case (also from Austin, TX).
