Collings 290 DC S Doghair (2010)

"Every day we try to make a better guitar, every day. You're trying to reach for more, trying to do better, not trying to do the same. A lot of companies are trying to do the same, and that's okay - that's their deal. We're trying to stretch that. Our goal is a little more." - Bill Collings

For the uninitiated: a mahogany bodied, single dogear P90 / wraptail bridge equipped electric guitar is the short path to tonal greatness (Bonus points? Play it through a Vox AC30 or Marshall).

Simple, to the point, all you need, nothing you don't. But don't fool yourself into thinking these guitars are limited because they only have one pickup - they aren't. What you're presented with is simplicity, killer fundamental tone, and straightforward playability - the rest is up to you. Want it to twang or rock? Pick back by the bridge. Mellow it out a little? Lighten your touch and pick closer to the neck. Sounds quite a bit like an acoustic guitar, no? Same deal here. Wasn't it Zappo who said, "Shut up 'n play yer guitar!"? Simple is good folks.

This like-new, 2010 double cut 290 take this bare-bones approach and kicks it up a few notches with the addition of a gorgeous dog-hear finish. It adds a really cool elegance to this style of guitar that you don't typically see. Playability, setup, and of course tones, are spot on. No issues or fret wear. The plastic is still on the guard!

A subtle twist on a classic. Let this 290 DC S show you how beautiful, inspiring, and tone-filled a LP Jr style guitar can be! Priced with original hardhell case.
