Asher GT3 Icelandic Blue

"My passion for restoring and building instruments began in 1982. I have worked for numerous artists who have shaped and inspired the guitars I build today. My designs offer the revered tones and iconic vibe found in great vintage instruments, coupled with refined solid construction, boutique electronics and custom feel." - Bill Asher

Our latest Asher guitar - a gorgeous, tone-filled GT3 in Icelandic Blue - finds Bill Asher pushing his T-Deluxe platform into new places - a highly rewarding journey to be sure!

There are elements of several guitars present in this GT3. The body is contoured like a Strat and ever so slightly offset like a Jazzmaster/Jaguar making it balance perfectly when seated or using a strap. That said, there's a definite Tele vibe to the feel of this guitar that dominates the other elements overall (think hot-rodded Tele).

The Strat gets referenced again in the 3 pickup, 5-way switch, and Callaham Vintage spec bridge arrangement, though the Lollar Gold Foil definitely push this guitar into another place tonally. Jason Lollar's gold foils are articulate - a gorgeous Filter'tron like chime is present at all times - and sound great into a clean F-style amp.

Add your favorite overdrive to the mix and you're into low-fi blues or indie-rock heaven. These pickups breakup in a similar fashion to a Fender Jaguar - brash and raw with tons of sustain in this case...all in the coolest way possible. With a healthy dose of amp reverb and a firm grip on the whammy bar, this guitar is a hell of a lot of fun and covers a ton of tonal ground (and we haven't even gotten to the 6 position ToneStyler knob)! Also to be noted - the satin finished soft-V neck carve is phenomenal (slightly chunky but extremely comfortable).

Visually, this GT3 is stunning. We love the way the abalone fretboard dots echo the color of the body, pick guard and chrome - really ties the design together beautifully (and subtly).

Just an incredibly cool guitar from Bill Asher that will no doubt inspire and push you into new places with your music. Yes please! Priced with hardshell case.
