Founded in 1968, during the height of the folk scene in Cambridge, MA, The Music Emporium was built off the premise of offering the finest in old and new acoustic instruments. Over the last 50 years, our vision hasn’t changed. While our selection may have broadened to include a more diverse offering, like solid body electrics and ukuleles, the passion behind our offerings is as visible and vibrant as it was in the 60’s.
This is a store built by musicians for musicians and anyone who has a love for fine American craftsmanship. Our vision for the Lexington location is to give you the experience of walking into an Old World wood shop, the smell of spruce and rosewoods, leather and old Oriental carpets.
We invite you take the trip out of Boston to historic Lexington, MA, stroll the old Battlegreen, take in a meal at a local tavern and then while away your afternoon at The Music Emporium, surrounded by the best in finely crafted guitars, banjos, mandolins, and ukes. We look forward to welcoming you in our store.
